Одна из самых главных особенностей Байкала ― это его прозрачные воды. Стоя на берегу, ты невольно вглядываешься в блестящую поверхность, кажущуюся то свинцовой, то небесно-голубой, то зеленовато-морской... Значительные глубины, начинающиеся практически сразу от берега (озеро буквально находится в расщелине земной коры), низкие температуры (даже летом) и уникальная прозрачность ― всё это создаёт неповторимую атмосферу, играющую самыми неожиданными красками. Самый популярный вид отдыха на Байкале ― это сидеть на берегу и смотреть на его воды. В любое время суток ― Байкал прекрасен всегда. И не важно, сердится он или довольно воркует у твоих ног, это потрясающая стихия. Нам с ним повезло, и августе 2014-го года он встретил нас с умиротворением и снисходительностью, позволив насладиться его красками во всей их великолепной красе.

One of the most important features of lake Baikal is its clear waters. You can't help but stare at the glistening surface when you stay on the shore. Baikal's water sometimes looks like lead, sometimes is sky-blue, sometimes as greenish-sea... Significant depths starting almost immediately from the shore (the lake is located in a crevice of the earth's crust), low temperature (even in summer) and unique transparency ― all this creates a unique atmosphere that plays with the most unexpected colors. The most popular type of recreation on lake Baikal is to sit on the shore and look at its waters. At any time of the day ― Baikal is always beautiful. It doesn't matter if it's angry or cooing contentedly at your feet, it's a splendid creature. We were lucky, and in August 2014, the lake met us with peace and condescension, allowing us to enjoy its colors in all their magnificent beauty.
