Сомневаюсь, что в Праге слышали про кавказскую традицию, что ворота ― это лицо мужчины (т.е. главы семьи), но что-то такое в традициях прошлого пражских богатых семей прослеживается. Ниже представлены образцы входных дверей, надвратных украшений и просто некоторых дверок чешской столицы. Двери в старинные пражские дома преимущественно очень красиво оформлены, отделаны резьбой, лепниной, часто украшены гербами (порой гербы ― это всё, что осталось от некогда знатных фамилий). Есть другая старинная поговорка, что встречают по одёжке. Видимо, встречающая сторона в Чехии тоже стремилась произвести первое впечатление о себе очень сильное, в связи с чем среди обычных, казалось бы, входных дверей попадаются настоящие архитектурные шедевры.

Тем Прага и удивительна, что многолика и многогранна.

I doubt that people of Prague have heard about the Caucasian tradition that the gate ― this is the face of a man (i.e. the head of the family). But something like this can be traced in the traditions of the past of Prague's rich families. You can see below samples of entrance portals, gate decorations and some doors of the Czech capital. The doors of the old Prague houses are mostly very beautifully designed, decorated with carvings, stucco, often decorated with coats of arms (sometimes coats of arms are all that remains of once noble families). There is another old saying that people first judge by clothes (i.e. first impressions are most lasting). Perhaps, owners of rich houses in Czechia wanted to make a very good first impression, therefore, among the usual, seemingly, entrance doors, there are real architectural masterpieces.

Well, Prague is amazing because it is many-sided and multifaceted.
