Боржомское ущелье — это ущелье в долине реки Куры, оно разделяет Месхетский и Триалетский хребты Малого Кавказа. Длина ущелья около 60 км, глубина 1300-1500 м. Называется ущелье, разумеется, по городу, который в нём располагается.

В окрестностях города Боржоми начинается Национальный Парк «Боржоми-Харагаули». Территориально этот парк находится в центральной части Грузии и располагается на северном и южном склонах Аджара-Триалетского горного хребта, составляющего часть Малого Кавказа. Это один из крупнейших национальных парков Европы. В 2005 году, когда были сделаны фото ниже, это было не самое популярное место для международного туризма. Леса составляют главное богатство этого региона, в которых можно встретить множество эндемичных растений и исчезающих видов животных.

Данная галерея представляет мои впечатления от небольшой прогулки по этому замечательному ущелью. Пешие тропы то взбираются вверх, то ныряют куда-то вниз; то ты бродишь меж холмов, то спускаешься к берегу реки. Идти то трудно, то легко, но на всём протяжении пути не устаёшь удивляться, насколько же это живое и красивое место.

The Borjomi Gorge is a gorge in the Kura river valley, it separates the Meskheti and Trialeti ranges of the Lesser Caucasus. The length of the gorge is about 60 km, the depth is 1300-1500 m. The gorge is called, of course, after the town that is located in it.

Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park begins in the vicinity of Borjomi. Geographically, this park is located in the central part of Georgia and is located on the northern and southern slopes of the Adjara-Trialeti mountain range, which is part of the Lesser Caucasus. It is one of the largest national parks in Europe. In 2005, when the photos below were taken, it was not the most popular place for international tourism. Forests are the main wealth of this region, where you can find many endemic plants and endangered species of animals.

This gallery presents my impressions of a short walk through this wonderful gorge. Hiking trails sometimes climb up, then dive down somewhere; then you wander between the hills, then you go down to the river bank. It is difficult to go, then easy, but all along the way you do not get tired of being surprised at how lively and beautiful this place is.
