Любая страна — это прежде всего люди. Поэтому рассказ о Камбодже стоит начать с главного — с её людей. И это не только местные жители, здесь вы можете увидеть также несколько иностранных для Камбоджи туристов, хотя надо сказать, что у камбоджийцев и внутренний туризм развит: они любят выбраться на море, устраивают пикники у рек или озёр, любят и уважают своё наследие, поэтому ходят в музеи и посещают заповедники. В данной галерее можно увидеть всяких людей — от последних уличных бомжей до состоятельных граждан, живущих в своё удовольствие. Но прежде всего это люди — такие, какими мы их увидели и какими запомнили.

Довольно длительное пребывание в Камбодже (периодами с 2005 по 2007 годы) научило нас пониманию, что все азиаты различаются между собой. Камбоджийцы тоже не исключение. Если присмотреться внимательнее, то кхмера никогда не спутаешь ни с китайцем, ни с японцем, ни с вьетнамцем или корейцем — они все разные, все между собой различаются. Даже тайцы и камбоджийцы между собой отличаются, хотя обе эти нации потомки великой Кхмерской Империи.

В любом случае, это всегда интересно — посмотреть в другие лица. Ведь любая страна, повторюсь, это прежде всего люди. Достопримечательности и природа — это всего лишь окружение. Когда как душа страны скрыта в её людях, понять которую невозможно, не соприкоснувшись с ними.

Here you can also see a few foreign tourists, although, I have to say that domestic tourism is developed in Cambodia, as well. The Cambodians like the sea, have picnics by rivers or lakes, love and respect their culture heritage, therefore, they go to museums and visit nature reserves. In this gallery, you can see all sorts of people — from the street bums to wealthy citizens, who live in their own pleasure. But first of all, these are people — as they are, and as we remember them.

A fairly long stay in Cambodia (between 2005 and 2007) taught us, that all Asians are different from each other. The Cambodians are no exception. If you look closely, you will never confuse a Khmer with a Chinese, a Japanese, a Vietnamese or a Korean. Everyone differs from each other. Even the Thais and the Cambodians differ from each other, although, both of these nations are descendants of the great Khmer Empire.

In any case, it's always fascinating to look at other faces. Whatever it was, any country, I repeat, is foremost the people. Attractions and nature are just an environment. But the soul of the country is hidden in its people, which is impossible to understand without coming into contact with them.
